Q: We've been away from the program for a while. Can we return to class?
A: Yes, of course! You can return any time! Just call us to let us know to expect you.
Q: Do we have to fill out all the forms again at the start of the school year?
A: Yes, please. We update our files once a year to make sure we have your most current information. We also ask you to sign a new enrollment agreement in the fall for the current (September to July) school year.
Q: How many classes a week should my student attend?
A: The answer is "It depends on you, your students, and what works for your family." We prefer that students attend two to three classes a week. This helps your student understand and retain the information. However, we have seen many students achieve success with persistant attendance at one class a week. The most important thing to remember is that just like learning any other skill, practice makes perfect. The easiest way to practice is to attend classes!
Q: Can we attend two classes in a row on the same day?
A: Yes, of course, if your child is able to participate without getting too tired or overwhelmed by back to back classes. If you want to experiment for a few weeks with your schedule, we will be happy to accomodate you.
Q: A family emergency has arisen, and we cannot get to class! What do we do now?
A: Please call or email when a conflict arises. We'll help you find a make-up class. You're not required to do make up classes, but it will be difficult for your student to be ready for their next test with too many missed classes.
Q: If we need to leave the Aikido Kids program, what should we do?
A: Good relationships thrive on good communication! We don't expect your children to stay in the Aikido Kids! classes forever, but we do want to remain BFF (best friends forever!). Please write us a letter about your plans 30 days before your last class. This helps us manage class sizes and staffing needs.
Q: I have a concern. What should I do?
A: For any problem, big or small, contact Teacher Nancy RIGHT AWAY at 206 605 3068. Many small problems can be easily addressed. Big problems might not be so easy, but we value your input - always! We will always do our best to meet your needs. We want you to love our school and enjoy participating in Aikido classes.
